Who we are
niftisports is pure data. Not our opinion.
We show the standings, the playoff paths and the predictions exactly as the numbers work out. Often the data disagrees with us, and that's the point: we publish what it says, not what we hoped. Every prediction is saved before the game and graded after, right or wrong.
What we don't do
We don't highlight individual players or achievements unless the data needs it to explain a result. We don't post game photos. Other sites do photos and player stories really well, and we enjoy reading them too. We're not journalists and we don't cover games; we look for the story in the data.
What we cover
Maine high school football and cross country, the NFL and the NBA, today; Maine HS basketball this winter. All built on the same data and the same rules.
Where the data comes from
Today it comes from public sources, checked against official results. We're starting to get data directly, and we'd love more partners: athletic directors, leagues, schools and anyone who keeps good records.
